University of Ljubljana is the oldest and largest higher education and scientific research institution in Slovenia. University with its rich tradition was founded in 1919. It has approximately 41,000 undergraduate and postgraduate students and employs approximately 6,000 higher education teachers, researchers, assistants and administrative staff in 23 faculties and three arts academies. The University of Ljubljana has close ties with Slovenian companies and foreign enterprises.
The Faculty of Electrical Engineering (FEE) was founded in 1919 as a unit of the Technical Faculty of the University of Ljubljana. The main mission of the Faculty is the education of electrical engineering experts and research work, which are closely intertwined. Today, alongside electronics and power engineering, the Faculty is also active in the fields of telecommunications and automation.
The main work of the Laboratory for Electrical Machines (UL-LES), as part of Faculty of Electrical Engineering, is focused on design, modelling, simulation, optimization, and experimental measurement related to research, development and training on electrical machines, actuators, and other electromagnetic structures in the multi-physics domain.
