VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland Ltd, the largest public applied research organisation in Northern Europe, is a state owned and controlled non-profit limited liability company established by law and operating under the ownership steering of the Finnish Ministry of Employment and the Economy.

We focus on Knowledge intensive products and services, Smart industry and energy systems, and Solutions for natural resources and environment. In our activities, we combine different technologies, produce information, update technological knowledge and create business intelligence and added value for our stakeholders.

We are driven by the impact and multi-technological expertise gained through, e.g., participation in numerous European R&D framework program projects under various thematic areas. VTT is ranked among the leading European RTOs. In December 2017, VTT has been recognised with the “HR Excellence in Research” award by the European Commission.
